Francis Leong (Cohort 1)
Visual Effects Specialisation
It has always been a part of my life to do something with art
and film, and dropping out from engineering in University gave
me the chance. I chose to study at Egg Story Digital Arts School
(now known as ArtFusion Media School) because of its curriculum.
It has a good solid foundation to give students. From learning
Live Drawing to Sculpting and Cinematography, many of the
modules in the Foundation Year give students the essential
skills for their Year 2 Specialisation.
I have the privilege to learn from a pool of good teachers.
These include my Life Drawing lecturer, Michelle Tan, and Visual
Effects lecturer, Borko Milohanovic.
Borko has been a great mentor and friend to me. His several
years in production (He has worked in Blackmagic Design as Lead
Visual Effects Technical Director on the movie "Dance of the
Dragon", and on TV Commercials projects as CGI Supervisor for
Levi’s, Vaseline, Nature Fresh, Boro Plus, etc.) and endless
efforts in trying out new 3D stuff, would give students the
first step to Visual Effects. His first step guided me to what I
am doing now. Currently, I am a Generalist Technical Director at
Double Negative Visual Effects (Singapore).
A quote which I like:
The art challenges the technology, and the technology inspires
the art.
- John Lasseter, Pixar Chief

Aloysius Yeo (Cohort 5)
Character Animation Specialisation
Our lecturers have invested time and effort into teaching us the
ropes of the industry, and guided us each step of the way as we
struggled to do up our own portfolio. Even though there were
times when their comments hurt us by being bluntly honest, we
know that deep down inside, they care for us because of the way
they always try to remain contactable and available despite
their busy schedule.
Being around my classmates also helped motivate and inspire me,
for if it were not for all of their honest opinions, feedback
and undying teamwork, I would have given up a long time ago.
There are two quotes from 2 of our lecturers that have inspired
me.
The first one being from Jerry Ching, who said:
Be bold and the mighty forces will come to you.
The second one from Jerry Verschoor:
If you have a dream, go for it. No one is stopping you except
yourself.

Cheuk Ka Hing (Cohort 6)
Visual Effects Specialisation
At the first glance of the school, I knew that this was the
place for me. I didn't have an art background, or any experience
in computer graphics. Equipped only with passion, I enrolled in
the school. Truly enough, the school provided me with what I
needed.
The Foundation Year slowly built up the artist in me and raised
my confidence. Even though work started to pile up as we
advanced into our Specialisation Year, the pressure trained us
to be able to deliver on time with quality. Pipeline and
workflow are something important that I have learnt apart from
the usual skill sets taught too. I learnt to manage my project
well, knowing what is needed to be achieved to accomplish my
tasks in the most efficient way.
I have taken up several freelance jobs that are challenging, and
tight on datelines. However, equipped with the essential skills
and knowing how to manage the project, I was able to deliver. I
believe that the school has brought me up well enough to step
into the industry.

Choy Bun Yue (Cohort 6)
Visual Effects Specialisation
My time spent at Egg Story Digital Arts School (now known as
ArtFusion Media School) was an extremely fulfilling one. I met
so many teachers and friends who were so passionate about
Computer Animation and that just keeps you motivated all the
time. It was most rewarding to figure out and overcome the
challenges to realize who I really was as an artist. I really
enjoyed my time here.

Erina Lim (Cohort 5)
Concept Art Specialisation
Making a decision to study at the formerly known Egg Story
Digital Arts School was a risky one considering the situations I
had and were in at that time but I never regretted my choice. To
me, the memories I have and the people I met in the time spent
in here are one of the most precious and treasured moments in my
life.
I met people with very diverse backgrounds and yet we were in
sync with one another because of our similar passions and
interests. For once I could share my excitement about an
artwork, design, movie, animation or even a game and they would
understand and that would kick off another interesting and fun
discussion. Working and being around with like-minded people
also helped motivate me. The lecturers are very passionate about
what they teach and they never once discouraged or gave up on
me. Being in the Concept Art Specialisation, there were many
times when I hit an artist block and got so demoralized but they
were always there to guide and help me overcome it.
It was a hard struggle through for someone who didn’t really
know how to draw but I must say I have learnt much more in this
institution in just my 2 years here. In here, we worked hard and
played hard too! ;)
