Concept art is a form of illustration where the main goal is to
convey a visual representation of a design, idea, and/or mood
for use in film, comics, or game design before it is put into
the final product. This specialization trains the students'
imaginative and creative minds to develop their concept of
scenes and characters in animation, game design, and special
effect visualization. A concept artist draws or paints images
which illustrate the look, feel, design, and color of the
featured production. Concept art is also referred to as "visual
development" in traditional animation, and play a key role in
the animation pipeline.

WSQ DIPLOMA IN ANIMATION (CONCEPT ART)
CREATING BRAVE NEW WORLDS
Concept Artists create breathtaking visuals that transport
audiences to imaginative new realms. As they establish the style
and design of characters and props, and determine the mood and
atmosphere of sets and environments, Concept Artists play an
integral creative role in the production team.
This Specialisation provides comprehensive training in the
traditional and digital techniques of Concept Art. From fine art
and comic art, to digital matte painting and
compositing–students will acquire creative skills and stretch
the boundaries of their imagination. In addition, the first year
Foundation Studies will impart the fundamentals of the entire
digital production pipeline.
A DREAM-CAREER MADE REAL
As the Digital Media Industry blossoms, the increase in digital
content production will drive the demand for Concept Artists.
Their creative visions and revolutionary designs already inspire
film and broadcast production, game creation, medical and
architectural visualisation, and even print design and
advertising. Concept Artists will enjoy a creative future as
limitless as their own imagination.
